Paramount Global has announced the first countries in Europe where the Paramount + video streaming service will be available and when the official launch will take place. Netflix will soon have another formidable rival on the “old continent.” Paramount + is entering Europe this summer, where it will be available from June 22 in the UK and Ireland.
In the UK, a Paramount + subscription will cost £ 7 a month or £ 70 a year for those who choose to pay for a full year from scratch. The service will be free for Sky Cinema subscribers.
This will only be the first wave of European enlargement. Later this year, the service will be launched in Austria, France, Germany, Italy, and Switzerland.
Also during the publication of the results for the last quarter, Paramount Global announced that the service will be available in India sometime next year.
Paramount + boasts over 30,000 movies and series on the ViacomCBS network, hosting series such as Halo or Star Trek: Discovery.
The service gained 6.8 million subscribers in the first quarter of the year and now has nearly 40 million subscribers, just over a year after launch, and is unavailable globally.
